A Love doll’s birth

While researching on the development of empathetic companion robots and the fabrication of artificial bodies, I discovered the existence of Love Dolls. These are life-size replicas of the human body produced by the sex industry in order to be used as surrogate companions. This animation uses different textures of computer-generated images in order to create a visual trip revisiting the representations of the Venus through time, from the Paleolithic to the XVIII century and up to the contemporary Love doll.

En m’intéressant au développement des robots de compagnie empathiques et à la fabrication de corps artificiels j’ai découvert l’existence des Love Dolls. Il s’agit de répliques grandeur nature du corps humain produites par l’industrie du sexe pour servir de compagne de substitution. Cette animation utilise différentes textures d’images 3D pour créer un trip visuel qui revisite les représentations de la Vénus à travers le temps, du Paléolithique au XVIIIe siècle, jusqu’à la Love doll contemporaine.
